Kevin J. Robertson

Kevin earned his Bachelors of Music in Music Education (Instrumental), BMME, from Abilene Christian University (Abilene TX) in 1989. He soon realized that he enjoyed performing on Euphonium and Trombone more than teaching.   He entered into a 23-year career as a United States Army Bandsman.  Army duties took Kevin and his wife Amy, to several posts in the US, and to the countries of Panama, Korea, Iraq and Germany.  His duties were varied as he performed on various low brass instruments as needed.  He also has been a manager and music arranger for several rock or show bands while also assisting with rhythm guitar and vocals, and being the “front man”.

During his transition to civilian life Kevin began performing with the Department of Washington American Legion Band in August of 2010.  He became an interim director and has since remained the band’s director.  His vision for the band is to become the “Boston Pops” musical organization of the Pacific Northwest.

Kevin and Amy live in Tumwater Washington with a wire-haired dachshund, Gimli, and a smooth collie, Echo.
